Psychologist in Griffith NSW

Straight Up Psychological Services provides psychological therapy in Griffith, NSW and via telehealth across Australia. Therapy is available for adults, adolescents, and children experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, burnout, grief, interpersonal difficulties, or other ongoing emotional challenges.

Many people seeking support are managing day to day but feel overwhelmed, worn down, or stuck. Therapy focuses on understanding what is contributing to these difficulties and supporting change in a way that is practical, respectful, and sustainable.

How therapy works

Therapy is tailored to the individual and grounded in established psychological approaches. Sessions may draw on approaches such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR (depicted on the left), and other structured psychological frameworks, depending on what is most appropriate.

The work is neuro-affirming and attentive to context, recognising that difficulties often arise from the interaction between a person and their environment rather than from personal failure. The focus is on understanding patterns, building practical skills where helpful, and addressing factors that are maintaining distress. Therapy is collaborative and paced carefully, rather than rushed or prescriptive.
